There is not much I love more than a nautical wedding, add a VW bus and I’m on board! A true celebration captured so beautifully by Krista A. Jones Photography and planned by Kari Rider Events, this affair was planned beautifully down to the littlest details. I love the mismatched bridesmaids dresses, the bride’s simple gown that was so ‘her’ and the use of patterns and prints on the linens and vases. And despite the 90-degree heat this group danced the night away to one of their favorite bands.
The bride and groom met over a sticky shuffle board table at a dive bar in New York City during a blizzard. They both love the water so they knew they wanted a seaside celebration. The bride is from Maryland so a wedding in Cheapeake Bay was a natural choice. And to feed her blue and white obsession, having it be a nautical wedding was a no-brainer. One of my favorite parts about this wedding was the import job they gave the adorable VW bus. Growing up with many VW buses, the bride knew she wanted her dad to give her away in a vintage one.
Another thing I adore about this wedding is the little details. I love the DIY lollipop escort cards, which was a play on her new last name, Lalli. And, I love a good story behind the name of a signature cocktail and theirs was Nancy Whiskey, the name of the bar where they met. The bride never pictured herself wearing a big white wedding dress. So when she found her two-piece Lihi Hod, she knew she’d found “the one.”
