From Stephen and Branden…
Although our wedding was 5 years ago in August, we still remember it like it was yesterday. The love, support and compassion we experienced on our special day was unreal and made for a truly memorable occasion. Like many, we started a Pinterest board and began pinning away with inspiration from all around the world! Being a same sex couple, our wedding was considered a nontraditional marriage. This means break the “rules” and push boundaries! The term “bridesmaids” clearly didn’t fit, so we came up with “brosmaids!” No bride? No problem! All our brosmaids wore all white, and they looked absolutely stunning!
It was a very hot day, (for Canada) in Sherwood Park, Alberta and the sun was shining brightly. Although this is not the ideal weather for photographers or two men in suits, we found some shaded areas in the trees where some beautiful pictures were captured! Our wedding colors were mint and grey which still remain some of our favorite colors. When getting married, you want everything to be perfect and for nothing to go wrong. Our tip to couples getting married is to accept that there will be bumps along the way, and that there is a chance it won’t go exactly as planned. Looking back, we forget about those small details and choose to remember how fortunate we are to have our family and friends love and support.
